Project Overview
Exclamation Dance Company will present a concert series to celebrate it’s 15th Anniversary entitled “His-Story” at the Heinen Theatre on the campus of Houston Community College Main campus both in September 2014 and January 2015. The concert will present a diverse representation of life through dance, its perservere, its determination, its challenges, its passion, and compassion while using spiritual, contemporary, pop, and classical music as a backdrop of the messages. This season will display some favorites from the EDCo Repertoire, as well as, new works. The latest in a series of dance performances exploring the evolution of modern and jazz dance movement and their relation to the joy, pain, and complexity of the human condition, the concert features new works from Artistic Director Kenneth Epting created specifically for EDCo, along with collaborations with Troy Powell, Joel Hall, and Terri Wright. Exclamation will explore some new avenues of choreography and music, yet keeping the compassionate emotional tone as its signature. Exclamation will introduce to Houston their new and old talents as the performing artist of this project.
